Lighthouse Sv. Petar was built in 1884 on the peninsula of the same name, placed at the entrance to the town of Makarska. The lighthouse is placed at only 20 minutes walk from the centre of Makarska and at 85 km distance from the airport Split. Makarska is a well known tourist destination, famous for some of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic as well as for a vivid nightlife and rich sports and entertaining offer.
The peninsula of Sv. Petar is a forest park. It resembles heaven due to beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea and Biokovo Mountain in the background. Distance from the lighthouse terrace to the sea is 10 meters. Several beaches with flat rocks are placed in the lighthouse vicinity. On the way to Makarska, there are more beautiful pebble beaches, awarded with Blue Flag, suitable for small children and with various sports and recreational activities.
