MAKARSKA
Makarska is a city in central Dalmatia, situated about 60 km south-east from Split. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Croatian coast, attractive for its nature, good climate, cultural and historical attractions and a very active night life. The town Makarska is known for the sandy beaches (almost 2 km long), promenade walks with pine trees, many hotels and apartments. The mountain Biokovo protects the city from the continental climate, you can fully enjoy in the Mediterranean vegetation and climate with mild winters and long and warm summers. There are more than 2750 hours of sunshine in his area which offers you complete relaxation and enjoinment in the crystal clear sea and on the beaches.
The city of Makarska is built on a harbor in a bay, protected by a picturesque peninsula of Sv. Petar and the cape Osejava. What used to be the main city harbor is today not only a harbor, but also a base for yachts, sailing boats and tourist ships. The base is situated in the centre of the city and is well protected and secure.
