PORTOROZ (Slo)
Portoroz is one of the coastal towns of Slovenia – Croatia's neighboring country. The Slovenian coast borders on the eastern edge with Italy and on south with Croatia. The town itself is situated very close to Umag, Croatia – only 20 km distance and Trieste, Italy – only 36 km. Portoroz is linked with all the city centers in the region and can be reached by highway (directions from Trieste and Ljubljana), railway (Koper), catamaran lines and by air (airport Secovlje - Portoroz).
Portoroz coast is a strip of hotels, shops and discos. In addition, it has a very large sandy beach which attracts summer visitors who prefer relaxing on the beach.
Marina Portoroz is situated out of the town's centre, close to bay Lucija. It is a great starting point for cruising the Adriatic. The marina offers about a 100 berths with dry berths as well. Facilities include restrooms with showers, boat maintenance service, sport courts (tennis, golf and mini golf, swimming pool), a fitness centre and two restaurants. There is a big parking lot. The marina organizes international regattas and social events for yachtsmen and water sports enthusiasts.
